Sustainability

Updated: November 10, 2024

As a wine grape grower and craft wine producer, Lost Arrow Ranch is committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable manner in order to minimize our impact on the environment and promote the well-being of our community. This dedication is guided by three core principles:

  1. Environmental Stewardship: To thoughtfully manage our use of natural and man-made resources such as water, soil, organic amendments and energy, while implementing practices that protect and encourage the biodiversity of Lost Arrow Ranch.

  2. Social Responsibility: To prioritize the health and safety of our business partners, promote fair labor practices, pay livable wages for contractors, and support our local community and its social well-being.

  3. Economic Viability: To strive for the financial stability and long-term profitability of Lost Arrow Ranch, and the economic health of our local community.

To achieve these goals we will:

  • Monitor and evaluate our environmental impact on a regular basis, and implement sustainable practices that reduce our carbon footprint and promote biodiversity on the land we farm.

  • Use water and energy efficiently, and implement conservation practices wherever possible.

  • Work with suppliers and vendors who share our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

  • Promote soil health and biodiversity, work to re-introduce indigenous flora, create wildlife habitats, and eliminate the use of synthetic chemicals and pesticides.

  • Provide our business partners and contractors with a safe and healthy working environment and fair compensation.

  • Continuously improve our sustainability performance through regular review and assessments.

We recognize sustainability is an ongoing cultural process and we are committed to continuously improving our farming and business practices to reduce our overall environmental impacts. By adhering to this policy we hope to foster a positive influence on our community and environment, while maintaining the long-term viability of our business.
