Lost Arrow Ranch rests on the alluvial, decomposed granite soils fanning out from the southern slopes of Mt. Aukum. Reflecting this origin, our 2017 Petite Sirah was hand-picked from the ranch’s 35-year old, head-trained vines, delicately destemmed - not crushed, naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts, and barrel-aged for 42 months.
2017 produced our boldest, age-worthy wine to date. It presents aromas of ripe cherries, chocolate, and anise complemented by complex flavors of black cherries, blueberries, and cola. This little monster pairs nicely with slow-roasted mushrooms and winter root vegetables, prime rib, Moroccan food, and British farmhouse cheddars. Alcohol 15%
